LAKE CHARLES, LA-- McNeese State's women's golf team (blue team) finished third in the eight team Cowgirl Fall Invitational here Tuesday with a tournament total 934. The Cowgirls entered the final round in third place after playing 36 holes on Monday. The Cowgirls ended the tournament with their best round of the tournament and third best this fall with a 310. The Cowgirls shot rounds of 312 in both rounds Monday.

Central Arkansas picked up the team and individual titles with the Sugar Bears posting a 291 in the final round for a 900 tournament total, 22 strokes ahead of second place Lamar. The Cardinals shot a 304 in the final round for a 922.

UCA's C.J. Bobbitt shot her second consecutive under par round today with a two under par 70 after shooting a one under par 71 in Monday's second round. Despite the low round Tuesday, Bobbitt and Lamar's Linda Persson were tied with a 224 for the individual title. On the second hole of the sudden death playoff, Bobbit sank a two foot putt for par and Persson missed a three foot putt for her par, giving Bobbit the victory.

Randi Fischer led the Cowgirls' Blue team with a 10th place finish which is her best finish this fall. Fischer shot a third round 75 and ended the tournament with a 230. Other Cowgirl finishers had Lacy McKinley in 11th place with a 231, Jennifer Herrmann tied for 19th place with a 238, Maggie Ray tied for 23rd place with a 242 and Trista Touchette ended the tournament in 32nd place with a 250.

Freshman Sydney Martien led the Cowgirls' Gold team with a 246, good enough for 28th place, Jordan Nixon placed 33rd with a 252, Taylor Quienalty finished in 34th place with 253, Alaina Cleland tied for 35th place with a 256 and Megan Reynonds placed 37th with a 257.

Senior Jacy Reynolds and Morgan Coppels played as individuals and Reynolds tied for third place with a 227 and Coppels placed 43rd with a 276.
