LAKE CHARLES, LA -- McNeese State's volleyball season came to an end here Saturday with a five set (26-24, 25-22, 18-25, 18-25, 16-18) loss to Southeastern La. The Cowgirls end the season 17-13, 5-11 in league play.
McNeese took a 2-0 set lead but let the next three sets slip away as the Lions went on to win all three sets following the break to win the match and clinched the eighth and final spot in next week's Southland Conference Tournament.
Freshman Priscilla Massengale led all players with a career high 22 kills while senior Chanel Tyler ended her career with 13 kills. Setter Sarah Cartie's also concluded her career with 38 assists and 14 digs. Also recording double figure digs was Whitney Ellisor and Becky Bekelja with 18 and 11, respectively. Senior Deanna Sanchez was credited with one kills and seven digs who also played in her final game as a Cowgirl.
