The November 21 football game vs. the University of Central Arkansas marks the second year that the schools have competed in the Red Beans and Rice Bowl and the first year that McNeese will play host. It has been decided that the event will benefit two organizations: Abraham's Tent and the McNeese State Department of Agricultural Science.
This year the Red Beans and Rice Bowl will incorporate several elements including the game itself, sponsorship opportunities with the proceeds benefiting the aforementioned charities, a cook-off event and a non-perishable food drive.
Entry into the cook-off competition will cost $50 with cash prizes awared to the first, second and third place finishes. To sign up a team for the cook-off, fill out the entry form and return it to the McNeese Athletics ticket office.
Canned and other non-perishable food items will be accepted at the gate on the date of the game.
