LAKE CHARLES--- McNeese State's women's golf team is in third place after posting a first day 624 total after two rounds of the Cowgirl Fall Invitational held at the Lake Charles Country Club. Today's final round will begin with 8 a.m. tee times.

McNeese shot rounds of 312 in each round today and trail leaders Central Arkansas (306-303--609) by 15 strokes. Lamar is in second place after posting rounds of 314 and 304 for a 618 first day total. Rounding out the scoring is McLennan in fourth place with a 631, Sam Houston State is in fifth place with a 634 followed by Stephen F. Austin (650), McNeese Gold team with 668 and Centenary is in 8th place with a 703.

McLennan's Ragna Loafsdottir is the individual leader with a 149. Loafsdottir shot a first round 76 then came back and fired a one over par 73 in the second round. Central Arkansas' C.J. Bobbitt was the only player to shoot an under par round. Bobbitt shot a second round 71 and is tied for eighth place with a 154. Lamar's Linda Persson shot an even par 72 in the second round and is tied for second place with Sam Houston State's Kirsten Spittler. Both players finished day one with a 150.

McNeese senior Jacy Reynolds who is playing as an individual posted the Cowgirls' low score of the day. Reynolds is tied for fifth place after shooting a two over par 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second round. Freshman Morgan Coppels is also playing as an individual and she is in 43rd place with a 180. Lacy McKinley and Jennifer Herrmann are tied for eighth place with 154, Randi Fischer is in 14th place with a 155, Maggie Rae is tied for 20th with a 161 and Trista Touchette is tied for 36th place with a 173 for the Cowgirls' Blue team.

Freshman Taylor Quienalty was the top finisher for the Gold team today with a 165, tied for 28th place, Jordan Nixon is tied for 30th place with a 166, Sydney Martien is in 34th place with a 168, Alaina Cleland is in 35th place with a 172 and Megan Reynolds is tied for 36th place with a 173.
