McNeese State's
2010 football recruiting class has been ranked ninth best in the FCS by
Rivals.com which is considered among the nation's best on coverage of college
football recruiting.
The Cowboys,
who had 15 players in their signing class, were tied in the FCS top 10 in ninth place by Chattanooga and
Northern Colorado. Appalachian
State was judged to have the top recruiting class followed by Richmond, Western
Carolina, South Carolina State, Northwestern State, North Dakota State, Sacramento
State and Villanova.
Three of the
Cowboy signees - quarterback Will Briscoe, wide receiver Kenny Brown and
linebacker Orrin Fontenot - were ranked with two stars by Rivals.com.
Rivals.com is
composed of 20 experts and reporters who rank collegiate recruiting classes in
both football and basketball. It
