NACOGDOCHES, Tx.-- McNeese State's senior outside hitter Chanel Tyler moved into fifth place on the school's all-time kills list with 1,170 by leading the Cowgirls with 14 kills in a losing cause here tonight to Stephen F. Austin. Tyler moved into the fifth spot in the Cowgirls' first set victory by collecting eight kills, surpassing Kim Newman who played for the Cowgirls from 1991-94.

McNeese dropped the overall match in four sets after winning the first set 29-25 to take a 1-0 lead. McNeese would go on to drop the next three sets 14-25, 19-25 and 21-25 to fall to 17-11 overall and 5-9 in conference play.

Tyler was the only Cowgirl to record double figure kills but the Cowgirls had four players that recorded double figure digs. Freshman Priscilla Massengale led the way by tying her career high with 20. Sarah Cartie was credited with 16, Whitney Ellisor had 15 and Becky Bekelja dug a career high 13.
