2015 SCHEDULE

LAKE CHARLES – A season opening game at LSU on September 5 along with home Southland Conference games against rivals Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana and Sam Houston State highlight the McNeese Cowboys 2015 football schedule released by the athletic department on Wednesday.
 
McNeese, 6-5 a season ago, will face-off against the state's flagship school for just the second time ever after the two teams met for the first time in 2010 and LSU winning by a 32-10 score.
 
The slate features five home games in the 11-game slate that features nine conference tilts including games in Cowboy Stadium against 2014 conference co-champions Southeastern Louisiana and Sam Houston State.
 
The Cowboys will open their home season on Sept. 12 against Incarnate Word in a game that will also start SLC play. McNeese will also be home on Sept. 26 in a non-conference contest against Mississippi College, Oct. 10 versus two-time conference champion Southeastern Louisiana, Oct. 24 against Northwestern State which will also be the school's homecoming game, and Nov. 7 vs. Sam Houston State.
 
In addition to the LSU game, McNeese will be on the road Sept. 19 at Stephen F. Austin, Oct. 3 at Nicholls, Oct. 17 at Central Arkansas, Oct. 31 at Abilene Christian, and Nov. 21 at Lamar. The Cowboys open date will be Nov. 14.
 
This will be the fifth year in a row McNeese will open up its season against an FBS opponent. Last year the Cowboys took Nebraska down to the wire in a 31-24 loss while two years prior, defeated South Florida (53-21) and Middle Tennessee State (27-21).
 
Head coach Matt Viator will enter his 10^th full season as the leader of the Cowboys and is the only coach in the FCS ranks to post a winning season every year in his career with a minimum of nine seasons coached.
 
Times for all games have yet to be determined.
 
McNeese will be allotted a set amount of tickets for the LSU game. Current season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase up to four LSU game tickets per season ticket account. Anyone wishing to become a new season ticket holder can put down a $25 deposit towards those tickets and then will be able to purchase LSU game tickets.
 
Current season ticket holders will be receiving their renewal letters in the mail that will have a place where LSU game tickets can be requested. Requests are due back to the ticket office by June 2.
 
After that date, any tickets for the LSU game will go into a lottery pool for season ticket holders who want to purchase more than four tickets. Anyone who purchases season tickets after June 2 will be placed in that lottery. The last day to enter into the lottery will be July 31.
 
If there are any tickets remaining following the lottery, those will become available to the general public on a first come, first serve basis.
