BATON ROUGE- The McNeese Cowboys (8-5) mounted a late comeback in the ninth but ultimately fell 6-3 to sixth-ranked LSU Tigers (10-3) in Wednesday night's game at Alex Box Stadium. The game was a one-run contest for most, but late insurance runs added by the Tigers in the seventh and eighth would be just enough to claim victory over the Pokes.
Starter Christian Vega took the loss, he gave up just one earned run in two innings pitched. Burrell Jones worked two innings in relief, allowing no earned while striking out two. Andrew Sheridan pitched a scoreless inning as well.
Braden Duhon drove in two runs and was a part of a lethal relay team on display tonight.
